Alberta Arts and Cultural Talent Showcase is delighted to invite you to Dikshithar 250 – Thematic Carnatic Vocal Concert in both Calgary and Edmonton, celebrating the timeless compositions of Muthuswami Dikshithar for his 250th Jayanthi.
Featuring:

Arjun Srivatsav - A fourth-generation musician, Arjun Srivatsav was initiated into music by his mother, Vidhushi Chandrika Manjunath, and later trained under Naada Tapasvi Vid. Smt. Sudha V. Murthy. He now continues advanced training under Sangeetha Kalaratna Vid. Bangalore S. Shankar. He holds gradation in AIR and has performed across India, Canada, and the US.
Abhay Kumar was initiated into Carnatic music at the age of eight under Vidwan Smt. Thanadevy Mithradeva of Toronto. He furthered his music education under the guidance of the Mysore brothers: Sri Mysore Nagaraj and Sri Mysore Dr. Manjunath. He is also a layam disciple of Vidwan Thanjavur S. Ganapathy.
Ekaansh Narayan is a talented young mridangist currently in Grade 12. He did his arangetram at the age 14 under the guidance of Guru Sri Abhishek Iyer, and ever since his arangetram, has been taking advanced lessons under Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, Guru Sri Neyveli Narayanan. Ekaansh is the recipient of several awards for his mridangam skill and continues to grow his experience through collaboration with local artists in Edmonton and Calgary. Additionally, he is also pursuing vocal training under the tutelage of Vidushi Vani Ramamurthy.
In celebration of 250 years since the birth of Sri Muddusvami Dikshitar, Alberta ACTS is proud to present "Dikshitar 250" – a FREE festival featuring engaging workshops and themed concerts this Fall! Join us for an unforgettable musical journey honoring one of the Trinity of Carnatic Music.

Alberta ACTS presents “Colonial Interlude” - captivating documentary that explores the fascinating musical world of the legendary Carnatic composer Muthuswami Dikshitar (1775–1835).
Renowned musician and Dikshitar scholar Dr Kanniks Kannikeswaran will interactively guide you through various aspects of Dikshitar's music, his life, and his impact. Dīkṣitar Ārādhana 2025 in both Calgary & Edmonton
